Eileen Downey received a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance and a Master’s Degree in Collaborative Piano with an emphasis on vocal coaching from Michigan State University. Her collaborations span a wide range of repertoire, and she is active throughout the Metroplex as a vocal and instrumental recitalist, choral accompanist, vocal coach, and rehearsal pianist in opera as well as musical theatre. Since moving to the Dallas/Fort Worth area in September 2008, her engagements have included events with Dallas Opera’s Amici di Opera and The Turtle Creek Chorale, a recital with the Dallas musical organization Voces Intimae, a production with the Regal Opera Company in Colleyville, and opera productions at Texas Wesleyan University, where she is currently a vocal coach as well as an accompanist for the Wesleyan Singers and Chamber Singers. Following the performance with Voces Intimae, Scott Cantrell of The Dallas Morning News wrote, "The real star of the show was Downey, whose elegantly balanced and phrased accompaniments were a very model of collaborative pianism."
